Abuse

Abuse is a pattern of behavior used to gain and maintain power and control. Abuse is the improper usage or treatment of an entity, often to unfairly or improperly gain benefit. Abuse can occur to anyone of any age and gender and from any walk of life. It can come in many forms, such as: physical or verbal maltreatment, injury, assault, violation, rape, unjust practices, crimes, or other types of aggression.

Whatever your situation, you deserve to live without pain and fear. Whether you’re the abused, the abuser, or a concerned friend or family member, it’s important to know that there is help available. By learning about the different types of abuse and what you can do to stop or prevent it, you can make a huge difference in your own or someone else’s life.
